Gorkha Janmukti Morcha supporters hold massive protest demanding 'Gorkhaland'
Darjeeling (West Bengal), June 19 (ANI): The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) supporters held a massive protest rally on Monday in West Bengal's Darjeeling. Supporters hailed 'Gorkhaland' and 'Separate State' slogans and lit effigies of state government in many places to show their anger. Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called for peace in Darjeeling after an indefinite strike called by the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha in demand of a separate state. Earlier, 3 people were killed in a protest that erupted on Saturday. The Gorkha protesters held a silent march to the centre of the popular hill town, carrying the bodies. Reportedly, protesters blamed the policemen for the killings during the protest.
