Conventionally, India has always been known for focusing a lot on
education and also the stress is more on conventional educational
programs such as engineering, medicine, chartered accountancy, banking
etc.but the last few years has shown a significant change not just in
the educational market but also in the mindset of students who have
begun to think independently.
As a result, they are opting for courses of their choice and are very
clear on their career path. With this, new avenues have cropped up and
notable among them are Media, Entertainment, Fashion, Sports and others.
While these are more frontline professions, two more streams are
picking up in India. They are Yoga and Indian philosophy. Apparently,
these two streams were considered to be subjects which were taken for
self-improvement and passion sake but never as a means for livelihood
and a proper career.
Those who are already pursuing the courses are mentioning that they are
able to pursue courses such as instructors, project guides, academicians
and private setups. And to those who are looking at overseas placements
tend to find a good prospect for employment. On the personal front
these courses also work for self-betterment and clarity of thought. An
overall development of professional and personal perspective is attained
this way.
However, the awareness on the potential of Yoga and philosophy is still
not done in the maximum in India. Also, there are not many professional
and experienced institutions which offer these courses. But these
courses are more suitable to those who are passionate and have the right
aptitude towards both streams. There is innovation and offbeat flavour
in these subjects but they sure are viable options to take up.
