India is one country whether you like it or not doing an engineering course is considered a matter of pride and respect for many parents. Moreover, with engineering colleges mushrooming all across the nation, even the worst rank in an engineering entrance test tends to get you a seat in engineering and that too in the branch of your choice. That is one reason why the quality of engineers has fallen down sharply. But then, there are always those institutions wherein engineering courses are worthy to do and among the B.E and B.Tech programs, there seems to be an increasing demand for the B.Tech courses among students. It is heard that many are showing interest towards Electronics and Computer engineering. Moreover, there has been a significant increase in the number of girl students. For one, the general belief is that the better educational institutions tend to have a good infrastructure for B.Tech streams and even the faculty is of better quality. On the other hand, the market demand, the employer's perspective, the placement record has also been quite healthy for the B.Tech candidates. And in few instances, the B.E courses have become quite specialized and industry oriented. Institutions like Jamia Millia Islamia are conducting exclusive B.Tech Entrance examinations for aspirants to filter out the best. The students also believe that the environment is quite disciplined in these courses and most of them are focused on education and other productive activities. Of course, at the end of the day, it all boils down to the kind of college you are choosing be it any stream of engineering. |
