New Delhi, July 10 : Former health minister
Anbumani Ramadoss, accused in a corruption case, appeared in a special
court here Tuesday and moved his bail application.
Ramadoss
appeared before Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special Judge
Talwant Singh, who had issued a bailable warrant against him July 7.
The court cancelled the bailable warrant against him after he appeared before it.
"Since the accused has appeared in the court, bailable warrant issued against him is cancelled," said the judge.
The court would next hear the matter July 20.
According
to the charge sheet filed by the CBI in April, Ramadoss abused his
official position to grant permission to an Indore-based institution to
admit medical students although it lacked adequate facilities.
The
Medical Council of India and a panel appointed by the Supreme Court
found that the institution did not have sufficient faculty and clinical
