Australia has failed to educate its own about the Asian region which supplies so many fee-paying students, says the University of Western Australia's vice-chancellor Paul Johnson. In a submission to the International Education Advisory Council chaired by businessman Michael Chaney he said that starting with the Colombo Plan, Australia has been very successful over a long period. This is in terms of time in educating people from the region but off late has been unable to sustain the momentum. |
