One in five government schools in MP have shortage of classrooms, teachers

According to the latest reports, Madhya Pradesh is far from putting into effect the Right to Education Act in its schools in a proper way.

The drop in enrolment figures and poor planning resulted in skewed classroom distribution. Despite having 1,16,509 excess number of classrooms in the state's schools, there's huge gap of 87,308 classrooms according to the norms of the RTE.

According to a recent analysis of the year 2013-14 U-DISE data by UNICEF, the proportion of the excess number of classrooms and insufficient classrooms is much big in government schools.
