The Education Ministry assesses the performance of Singapore's autonomous universities on multiple dimensions that cover both education and research. Indicators such as student quality, graduate outcome and resource utilisation are used in the assessment. Senior Minister of State Lawrence Wong said this in response to a question by MP Ellen Lee. The question was on whether the ministry accepts the university ranking tables produced by agencies such as Quacquarelli Symonds and Times Higher Education, even if these agencies rank Singapore's autonomous universities unfavorably.
