Mahanadhi Sandalwood Movie Review
Story:
An alright tale the story begins with Meenakshi (sanjjanaa) who comes from a fishermen community and gets married to Raj (dilip) who is based in Mumbai. She takes up a job at a hotel and that’s where the trouble begins. The hotel’s owner Janna (sooryakiran) runs prostitution business selling girl children. At one point, Meenakshi revolts against Janna as she is tried to be raped. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a subject filled storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was not good enough. The dialogues were adequate. The script was average and the screenplay could have been lot better. The background score was suitable and two songs were okay. Cinematography was impressive. Editing was required in key scenes. Costumes were well designed while the art department was upto the mark. Dilip Raj has done his bit as required and passed. Sanjjanna was a drawback as neither did she suit the role nor could she emote that performance as her character was strong. Sooryakiran was good. Rangayana Raghu attempted few smiles, Lokanath was usual, Shobaraj was standard. Others didn’t have much to offer.

Conclusion:
It does not mean that a good subject means a successful film. One should have the ability to execute that subject properly and choose the right cast. Both didn’t work here. The first half revolves around elements of love, songs and some comedy. The second half gets serious but then it was not that impact creating. The dialogue department should be strong because there is a strong message for the audience. Overall, this is a film which could have scored properly. At the box office, the film will be a below average fare.

Bharatstudent verdict: Good subject but not that good execution, can be ignored
