Rasam Malluwood Movie Review
Story:
Thirumeni (nedumudi venu) is an excellent chef who specializes in Kerala Sadyas. But his son Balu (indrajith) who is an MBA is not interested in his dad’s profession. One day, superstar Mohanlal (mohanlal) comes with his best friend Shekar (devan) and wants Thirumeni to do the dishes for Shekar’s daughter Janaki’s wedding at Doha. Balu goes to Doha a week earlier for arrangements but a twist occurs. What is that twist and how things take shape forms the rest.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline and while the presentation was regular, the narrative was disappointing. The dialogues were okay. The script was below average and the screenplay was weak. The background score was alright but songs were not that good. Cinematography was the saving grace to this film. Editing was moderate. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was alright. Nedumudi Venu was natural, Indrajith was apt, Mohanlal did his bit as required. Jagadheesh was mediocre, Devan was decent, Varuna was alright. Others didn’t get scope.

Conclusion:
It takes a good amount of entertainment along with the right sensibility to make a film engaging or else even a big star cannot help it from falling. In this, the first half goes about with elements of some amateur comedy, some drama and sentiment. The interval bang was promising but the second half failed to get the momentum and lacks the energy to hook the audience. Overall, this is a film which doesn’t score in any department so success is very tough at the box office.
