Ammakkoru Thaaraattu Malluwood Movie Review
Story:
John (madhu) is an old person who lives the life of a bachelor because of his lost love Sulakshana (sharada). Meanwhile, Sulakshana’s hubby is a sadist and she also has a very tough life with her sons and daughters-in-law. One day, her old student Sudarshanan (suraj) recognizes Sulakshana and also discovers her painful life. He takes her away with him and in that process, she meets John once again. What happens from there forms the rest.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was steady. The dialogues were okay. The script was average and the screenplay was moderate. The background score was old school and songs were not that bad. Cinematography was effective. Editing was weak. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was natural. Madhu has done a neat job given the requirement of his role, he was good. Sharada showed her experience and she was also apt. Suraj Venjaramoodu was standard, Saikumar was nice, Mammukoya was moderate. The others did their bit as required.

Conclusion:
It is one thing to come up with a nostalgic love story and another to shape it in the right way to appease the audience. However, in this film, the narration also was just like the old love story. The first half goes about with elements of emotional melodrama, some sentiment and some humor. The interval bang was okay and the second half also revolves around the overdose of sentiment and feelings which have been told in a rather retro method. Overall, this is a film which would fit for those who are thirty five plus and love to watch slow romantic tales of the yesteryears. At the box office, success looks doubtful.

Bharatstudent verdict:
