Poojai Kollywood Movie Review
Set on the backdrop of Pollachi, Vasu (vishal) is a financier who does his business in a lawful way. He also has a helping heart and in that process he once saves an honest ACP (sathyaraj) from the killers sent by the villain Thandavam (mukesh tiwari). Later, Vasu comes across Divya (Shruti Haasan) and falls in love with her. But there is a past of Vasu that Divya doesn’t know and few situations lead him once again to cross paths with Thandavam. What is that past and how things take shape forms the rest.
Poojai Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with a routine storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was not that absorbing. The dialogues were alright. The script was predictable but the screenplay was well executed. The background score was melodious but songs were weak. Cinematography was effective. Editing was required in the second half. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was apt. Vishal carried out his role without much issues and did his bit as required. Shruti Haasan looks cute and glamorous wherever required. Mukesh Tiwari was excellent. Radhika was elegant. Sathyaraj was superb. Soori and Pandi brought few smiles. Others did their bit as required.
Poojai Filem Review
A film may have a strong screenplay and good production values but if it doesn’t carry the right emtoinal quotient with entertainment, it fails to work. Something like this happened here. The first half was somewhat smooth with elements of romance, action and some comedy. The interval bang was promising. The second half got stretched and there was not much scope for emotional drama. Most of the credit must be given to the handling of scenes but it should have carried some juice to creat the required impact. The film might appeal to hardcore masala audience but not to all. At the box office, this could be an average treat.
