Tenaliraman Kollywood Movie Review
Story:
King Maamannar (vadivelu) is a generous king with a large kingdom and a huge family. He also has a beautiful and feisty daughter Maadulai (Meenakshi). However, the king is not that smart and he is directed by his group of nine ministers. Meanwhile, there is Tenaliraman (Vadivelu) a streetsmart man who uses his wit and intelligence. Eventually, he enters into the King’s court and catches the attention of many, including Maadulai. However, there is trouble emerging which lands Tenaliraman in trouble. What happens from there forms the rest.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a fictional storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was engaging in parts. The dialogues were well written. The script was average but the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. Vadivelu has made a strong comeback in both roles and he showed his prowess. The one to watch out for is Meenakshi Dixit, though it is her debut act in Tamil she has shown her mettle with striking beauty and impeccable expressions, she will go places with the right opportunities. Radha Ravi was regular, Manobala was moderate, G M Kumar was alright, Bala Singh was okay. Others did their bit as required and added value.

Conclusion:
The film has come in with a lot of hype due to the fact that it is Vadivelu’s comeback flick and the story is set on period backdrop. It takes off on a promising note and progresses smoothly with elements of wit, some humor and drama. The interval bang was promising and the second half was somewhat sluggish but picks up eventually. If only the entertainment quotient was focused strongly the film would have left a greater impact. Still, the screen presence of Vadivelu and the beauty with performance of Meenakshi did the needful. At the box office, the film has good potential to be a winner.

Bharatstudent verdict: Grand and light hearted, recommended
