Story: A well knit tale, the story begins with Kunjithapatham (siva) who hates his name and feels that all his failures in life are due to that. He also has a friend (satish) for moral support. With his frustration, he decides to change his name to Harish and things begin to change. He meets Geetha (priya anand) and falls in love with her. She also likes him but trouble occurs when she discovers his true name. But Kunjithapatham goes through some introspection and he decides to win in life by winning a marathon. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.
Presentation: The director has come up with a balanced storyline and while the presentation was nice, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were entertaining. The script was average and the screenplay was effective. The background score was appealing and three songs are worth listening. Cinematography was good. Editing was required in few places. Costumes were suiting the occasion while the art department was apt. Siva Karthigeyan gave a convincing performance and looked very confident. Priya Anand looks cute and she is sensuous in few places. Satish brought few smiles. Nandita was the best among the lot. Jayaprakash did his bit as required. Others didn’t have scope.
Conclusion: These days there is a lot of demand for rom-coms and this film has got a mix of comedy and entertainment but along with good sentiment. The first half goes on a lighter mode with elements of romance, humour and some songs. But the second half gets quite serious and involves a lot of melodrama and sentiment. Still, it manages to keep the audience engaged to a large extent. Overall, this is a film which will end up as a decent grosser at the box office.
Bharatstudent verdict: Emotional and entertaining, can be watched
