Karuppampatti Kollywood Movie Review
A well knit tale, the story is set on the backdrop from 1980 to 2011 and it is the tale of a father and son Manohar and Kothai Cocopardo (ajmal in dual role) respectively. Manohar is based in Paris and after his death, Kothai decides to find out more about his family. So he comes to India in search of his roots. Here he comes across many interesting people each with their own agenda and affection. However, there is another reason why Kothai has come to that place, to rectify few errors his father has done. How that happens forms the rest of the story.
Karuppampatti Tamil Cinema Review
The director has come up with an interesting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was good in parts.  The dialogues were well written. The script was average and the screenplay was alright. The background score was neat and two songs were worth listening. Cinematography was catchy.  Editing was required at few places. Costumes were natural and suited the occasion while the art department was appealing. Ajmal has carried out the double role in an effective manner, he has talent. Aparna was efficient. M S Bhaskar was moderate, Srinath Jegan brought few smiles, Archana Sastri made her presence felt. The others were there to fill the screen.

Karuppampatti Filem Review
It is always a nice feeling to watch films which cover a bit about the past and the current generation. And films on family bonding also work well but it is also important to tighten the screenplay and ensure pace is good. That was missing slightly here. The first half of the film goes on a lighter note with elements of comedy, romance and drama. The second half is all about the melodrama and the emotional angle. Overall, this is a film which might gain some attention with family audience. At the box office, this would be an average fare.

Bharatstudent verdict:
Nice effort with emotional content, could have been better
