Story: Gopala Rao (venky) is a middle class family man who has a shop that sells idols of God. However, he doesn’t believe in God and is very practical. An earthquake happens and Gopala Rao’s shop is destroyed. He goes to claim insurance but doesn’t get it because it is an act of God. Gopala Rao takes the help of a lawyer and files a case against the insurance company questioning the system of God and Gurus. Then happens something most unexpected in his life and what happens from there forms the rest.
Presentation: The director has come up with a remake storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the royalty while the art department was majestic. Victory Venkatesh has time and again proved why he is the best performer in common man roles and he has repeated the act again. Pawan Kalyan was superb and he looks suave and sophisticated as a God, he was a showstealer. Shriya looks extremely beautiful and makes her presence felt despite the presene of two big stars. Vennela Kishore was entertaining. Mithun Chakraborty was effective. Posani was hilarious. Others did their bit as required and added value.
Conclusion: The film is the remake of the Bollywood movie ‘Oh My God’ and true to that script, the director has not made any changes but his masterstroke came in with bringing in two heavyweights for the lead roles. The first half goes about with elements of comedy, drama and some intense moments. The interval bang was the most exciting. The second half revolves with some interesting scenes filled with entertainment and also some sensibilities. Overall, this is a film which is a must watch for all genres of audience and especially the family crowds. At the box office, this has got more than enough to become a big blockbuster.
