Jagadguru Adi Shankara Tollywood Movie Review
A spiritual tale, the story begins in a remote place of Kerala where a gifted child is born and he is named Sankara. From childhood, Sankara shows the qualities and wisdom of a prodigy and at a tender age, he decides to take up Sanyasam. His mother (rohini) reluctantly agrees and the boy grows up to become Adi Shankaracharya (kousik babu). His journey goes through various myriads of experiences especially one with a Chandala (nag). How Adi Shankara becomes a Jagadguru forms the rest of the story.
Jagadguru Adi Shankara Telugu Cinema Review
The director has come up with an insightful storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was melodious and all songs were worth watching and listening. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. The graphics have set a new standard in Tollywood. Editing was crisp but it could have been sharp. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was majestic. Kousik Babu looked intense but maintained that glow throughout. Nagarjuna was brief but impact creating. Same with Sai Kumar. Mohan Babu and Tanikella Bharani were effective. Srihari was good. Kamalinee Mukherjee was sensuous and impressive. Suman was standard. Sreerama Chandra was apt. Others didn’t have much scope.
Jagadguru Adi Shankara Filem Review
It takes a lot of challenge and courage to come up with a story based on a spiritual Guru because it involves lot of research and ability to educate the audience in today’s time. The director has come up with a good job in that aspect and showed his level of knowledge. The first half revolves around the early stages of the Jagadguru while the second half revolves around his quest that changed India’s religious face. Overall, this is a film which must be watched not just for its technical brilliance and subject but also for the devotional spirit.
