Margarita With a Straw Bollywood Movie Review
Shubhangini (revathi) is a devoted mother to her child Laila (kalki) who suffers from cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound. But Laila is stubborn headed and doesn’t believe she is disabled. However, she is great at creative writing and does a good job for a rock band. She also falls in love with a band member Nima (tenzing) but he doesn’t love her. Heartbroken, Laila goes to New York for course in writing along with Shubhangini and what happens from there forms the rest.
Margarita With a Straw Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with an engaging storyline and while the presentation was nice, the narrative was neat. The dialogues were okay. The script was adequate and the screenplay made it better. The background score was suitable and songs didn’t have much to do. Cinematography was effective. Editing was weak. Costumes were standard while the art department was colorful. Kalki Koechlin gave a superb performance and hogs the brownie points. The one to watch out for though is Revathi, she was simply magnificent. Sayani Gupta was okay, Hussain Dalal was nice, William was elegant, Kuljeet Singh was matured. Others did their bit as required.
Margarita With a Straw Filem Review
There is no doubt that the film is made in a world of its own with some impeccable performances but the flavor and concept is something which cannot be entertained on the silver screen by the audience. The first half goes about with elements of romance, some drama and emotions. The interval bang was alright but the second half had few twists which is actually very uneasy for the general viewers. Also, the pace was too testing. Overall, this is a film which might appeal to the arthouse film lovers but success at the box office is highly unlikely.
