Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! Hindi Cinema Review
Presentation:
The director has come up with a intriguing storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was a disappointment. The dialogues were well written. The script was weak and the screenplay made it further bad. The background score was melodious and two songs were worth watching. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was quite bad. Costumes were well designed to suit the backdrop while the art department was superb. Sushant Singh Rajput gave a commendable performance and scored. Swastika Mukherjee was seductive. Ajit Tiwari was apt. Meiyang Chang was moderate. Divya Menon was decent. Shivam was standard. Others were there to fill the screen.

Conclusion:
The film came in with a lot of hype and expectations and it must be said that this is a disappointment. The reason for that is the slow narration and dragged scenes. The first half goes in a very mild manner and lacks energy. The interval bang was somewhat good but the second half had many stretched sequences and tested the patience of the audience. Overall, this is a film which had very good potential but it got messed by the director and writer. At the box office, success is doubtful but the openings will be good.
