Roy Bollywood Movie Review
Kabir (arjun) is a successful filmmaker who is facing a writer’s block and he goes to Malaysia to shoot with a half baked script in the hope of finding inspiration. He finds it in the form of Ayesha (jacqueline) who is a filmmaker from London. Both fall in love and meanwhile, Kabir is keen to make a film on Roy (ranbir) a famous art thief. Incidentally, Roy lands up in Malaysia for a heist and what happens from there forms the rest.
Roy Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a simple storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was a total letdown. The dialogues were weak. The script was below average and the screenplay made it even bad.  The background score was okay but songs were not appealing. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was poor. Costumes were well designed and stylish to suit the backdrop while the art department was natural. Arjun Rampal did his bit as required but didn’t have much energy to show. Jacqueline was okay and she needs to work on her dialogue delivery and expressions. Ranbir Kapoor should not have taken up this role. Anupam Kher was wasted, even Rajit Kapoor was not handled well. Cyrus Broacha was okay.
Roy Filem Review
Just because a film has ensemble of stars, it doesn’t mean that would work. There needs to be a good amount of substance in the subject. In this film, the first half goes about with elements of romance, some action and some dramatic moments. The interval bang was okay and the second half continues with the morose moments with nothing engaging to offer. The pace of the film was a major dampener. Overall, this is a film which came in with a lot of hype but there is absolutely nothing to get entertained about. At the box office, this would sink in no time.
