Ugly Hindi Cinema Review
Presentation:
The director has come up with a realistic storyline and while the presentation was raw, the narrative was hard hitting. The story is quite predictable but the screenplay could have been better. The background score was intense and songs were okay. Cinematography was the best. Editing was crisp. The costumes were natural while the art department was realistic. Ronit Roy was superb and he delivered very well. Rahul Bhatt was upto the mark. Anshikaa was apt. Tejaswini was excellent. Vineet Singh was impressive. Others did their bit as required and added value.

Conclusion:
The concept of child trafficking and prostitution is an ugly face of the human life which is never easy to digest. And when someone like Anurag Kashyap shapes a film on those lines it gets very raw. The first half revolves around the layering of the plot and it is filled with some gory expletives, some nasty locations. The interval bang was neat and the second half had few intense moments but filled with few highly realistic scenes that may be tough for the regular audience to accept. Overall, this is a film which is meant for very select set of audience and not for the entertainment seeking viewers. At the box office, it would be an average grosser.
