The Lunchbox Bollywood Movie Review
Story:
A heart stirring tale the story begins with Ila (nimrat) who is doing her best to impress her husband (nakul) by putting hand written notes in his lunch box. But despite her best efforts, that appeal doesn’t work. But the twist occurs when one of the Dabbas she sends lands by mistake on the table of a close to retiring government employee Saajan (irrfan). What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a very romantic storyline and while the presentation was elegant, the narrative was extremely absorbing. The dialogues were excellent. The script was above average and the screenplay was fabulous. The background score was rich and songs were captivating. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the natural feel while the art department was majestic. Irrfan Khan’s performance cannot be explained in two lines, he was outstanding. Nimrat was competent and made her presence felt. Nawazuddin was superb. Denzil Smith was apt, Lilette Dubey was natural. Others did their bit as required and added value.

Conclusion:
Amidst the flood of commercial potboilers filled with masala and skin show, this is one film which is not only rich in its content but also its substance. The appeal and the connectivity with the audience is intense. The film takes off on a smooth note and the interval bang was interesting. The second half also rolls smoothly and has its share of emotional quotient. Overall, this is a film meant for the matured and content seeking audience mixed with entertainment. At the box office, this deserves a smash hit!
