Set on the backdrop of a small town called Ambikapur, there lives one Masterji (amitabh) who is an honest and upright man. The same values are taught to his son Akhilesh (indraneil) who works with the R & B department. Story takes a turn when the flyover project Akhilesh is dealing collapses and he is killed in an accident. In comes his friend Manav (ajay) an enterprising guy with practical outlook to success. He realizes the moral values of life from Masterji and decides to wage a battle against the corrupt minister Balram Singh (manoj bajpai). He is supported by journalist Yasmin (kareena), youth leader Ranvir (arjun). Whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.
Satyagraha Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a message oriented storyline and while the presentation was alright, the narrative was not that absorbing. The dialogues were average. The script was good but the screenplay could have been better. The background score was suitable and songs were just okay. Cinematography was upto the mark. Editing was alright. Costumes were well designed to suit the nativity while the art department was natural. Amitabh Bachchan had a subdued role and did his bit as required. Ajay Devgn was standard. Arjun Rampal underplayed his presence. Kareena Kapoor was neat. Amrita Rao was apt. Manoj Bajpai was the best among the lot. Indraneil was brief. Others didn’t get much scope.
Satyagraha Filem Review
The idea of coming up with a film which deals with the corrupt system is always inspiring but then it has to be packed with the right kind of emotion and drama. In this film, the plot is good but it was not taken to that level of grip so that the audience can involve. The first half was somewhat better but the second half got dragged at many places. Overall, this is a film which is good in star cast and subject but not that great in terms of execution. At the box office, this could be an average grosser.

Bharatstudent verdict: Good thought, effective performances but not that impact creating
