Madras Cafe Bollywood Movie Review
A thriller tale, the story begins with Indian army’s intelligence officer Vikram (john abraham) who is sent to Sri Lanka on a covert operation. His job is to dismantle a rebel group and return. But after reaching there, Vikram realizes that there is a bigger plot being hatched, to kill the former prime minister (sanjay). Vikram decides to defuse this mission and is helped by journalist Jaya (nargis). Whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story.
Madras Cafe Hindi Cinema Review
The director has come up with a gripping storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was quite absorbing. The dialogues were well written. The script was above average and the screenplay made it lot better. The background score was terrific and there are no songs in the film. Cinematography was the main strength to this film. Editing was crisp. Costumes were well designed to suit the surroundings while the art department was majestic. John Abraham was quite involved into the character and he scores very well. Nargis Fakhri got a very meaty role and she did full justice to it. Siddhartha Basu was superb. Prakash Belawadi was powerful. Ajay Ratnam was apt. Sanjay was neat. Kannan was good.
Madras Cafe Filem Review
Though the film has been going through its share of controversies in some regions, it is indeed a commendable effort by the makers. The first half goes about with the layering of the plot and the interval bang was significant. The second half was intense and fast moving with a climax that leaves all spellbound. Overall, this is a film which is made with sensible and deep material. At the box office, this would appeal to the thinking audience and has a good chance of striking success.

Bharatstudent verdict: Intense and gripping with good insight, watch it!
