Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara Bollywood Movie Review
Story:
A gritty romantic tale the story begins with Shoaib (akshay) a powerful gangster who has his best friend Javed (sarfaraz khan) and his former lover Mumtaz (sonali bendre) as his confidantes. Soon, he discovers a young man Aslam (imran) and starts grooming him. The story takes a turn when Shoaib comes across an actress Jasmine (sonakshi) and falls for her. But on the other side, Aslam and Jasmine also get close. This creates a rift between the don and his protégé. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a romantic and hard hitting storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was not that great. The dialogues were well written. The script was predictable and the screenplay could have been crisp. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth listening. Cinematography was fantastic. Editing was required during the first half. Costumes were well designed to suit the retro backdrop while the art department was simply superb. Akshay Kumar has given a delectable performance and his grey shades were good. Imran Khan looked quite natural and did his bit well. Sonakshi Sinha made her presence felt. Sonali Bendre was very impressive, she deserves more opportunities and has got that natural beauty still. Sarfaraz Khan was good, Mahesh Manjrekar was not used properly. Abhimanyu Singh was wasted. Others didn’t get much to offer.

Conclusion:
The film happens to be a sequel to the film OUATIM which was a big hit. However, this one fails to garner the same intensity and interest. The main reason for that is the first half which is quite lipid and doesn’t have energy. It is only during the second half that things pick up but by that time the audience is not connected. Technically and artistically the film is well made but the required emotional peaks were missing. Overall, this is a film which has good star power but less substance. At the box office, the film will have nice openings but success is not that likely.
