Ramaiya Vastavaiya Bollywood Movie Review
Story:
An enjoyable tale the story begins with Ram (girish) a rich kid who comes from Australia to India for his cousin’s wedding. Here he comes across Sona (shruti) who comes from a moderate family and falls in love with her. He chases Sona all the way to her home whose incharge is Raghuvir (sonu sood) her brother. He is into farming. Raghuvir is against this match because of status issues. He throws a challenge to Ram to prove his love. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a romantic storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was good in parts. The dialogues were witty and nice. The script was predictable but the screenplay gave good energy. The background score was melodious and three songs were worth watching. Cinematography was an added asset. Editing was not upto the mark. Costumes were well designed to suit the ambience while the art department was majestic. Girish was a little rough but he showed good confidence and ease. Shruti Haasan steals the limelight with her expressive and striking beauty. Sonu Sood was the best among the lot with his gripping performance. Randhir Kapoor was good, Vinod Khanna was elegant, Nasser was natural. Others didn’t get much scope.

Conclusion:
The film is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’ which had Siddharth and Trisha in the lead. The remake happens to be a lift and shift with slight changes. While first half goes in an entertaining manner the second half has more emotion. The only hiccup is the length in few scenes and unwanted dragging. Overall, this is a film which would appeal to all genres of audience. At the box office, this could be an average to above average treat.

Bharatstudent verdict: Enjoyable commercial potboiler, can be watched
