Gippi Bollywood Movie Review
Story:
An inspiring tale, the story is about Gippi (riya vij) who lives with her single mother (divya dutta). She is very fat and is conscious about it. At school, she is bullied by a snobbish Shamira (jayati modi). On the other hand, Gippi comes across Arjun (taaha shah) and gets attracted to him. His friendship is mistaken as love and an embarrassing incident occurs where Gippi discovers the truth. At this point, she decides to stand up and fight. She contests against Shamira in the elections. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a meaningful storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was good enough. The dialogues were well written. The script was average but the screenplay was decent. The background score was suitable and songs were okay. Cinematography was impressive. Editing was required in few places. Costumes were well designed while the art department was natural. Riya was perfect for the role and did well. Arbaz was matured, Doorva was cheerful, Jayati was mean enough, Mrinal Chawla was neat. Taaha Shah was apt.

Conclusion:
The film deals with the typical problems and confusions adolescents go through and how their confusions about various emotions and feelings happen. The first half goes about with elements of comedy, some drama and good moments. The second half is more on the lines of sentiment and emotional melodrama. Overall, this is a film which might work with the just growing teens and youth audience. At the box office, this could be an average grosser.

Bharatstudent verdict:
Teenage syrup for adolescents, passable
