| Story: A mass masala tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Kanpur because Chulbul Pandey (salman) the daring cop is transferred there. He encounters the bad guys in the form of Bachcha Bhaiya (Prakash Raj) a criminal turned politician and his two brothers Chunni (nikitan dheer) and Gainda (Deepak Dobriyal). Meanwhile, Rajjo (sonakshi), Chulbul’s wife, is pregnant. The story takes a turn when Chulbul ends up killing Gainda and this results in a battle between him and Bachcha Bhaiya. What happens after that forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with a formula storyline and while the presentation was rich, the narrative was energetic. The dialogues were punch filled in some places, the script was predictable and the screenplay was decent. The background score was strong and three songs were very good. Cinematography was top notch. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were natural and rustic while the art department was apt. Salman Khan carries the entire film on his shoulders and he impresses once again. Sonakshi Sinha was sensuous and she did justice to her character. Arbaaz Khan was just okay. Mahie Gill was moderate. Vinod Khanna was alright. The real showstealer was Prakash Raj with his terrific performance. Nikitan Dheer was okay, Deepak Dobriyal was upto the mark. Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor were sizzling hot. |
Conclusion: The film is the sequel to the blockbuster hit Dabangg and there is nothing new in this in terms of the plot but it is the execution and the sheer power of Salman Khan that drives the film through. The first half goes on a lighter note with elements of little comedy, some action and masala songs. But the second half gets into a serious mode and there are plenty of action sequences. Overall, this is a treat for Salman fans and also for hardcore commercial potboiler audience. At the box office, success is guaranteed. Bharatstudent verdict: Typical Salman Khan film , forget the logic and enjoy the show |
