Mollywood's disinterest towards single hero scripts

Malayalam Film News    Bookmark and Share
A lot of Malayalali filmmakers are doing away with single hero scripts and are now experimenting more with multiple scripts and heroes in their projects.

Ranjith initiated the new wave in Mollywood by producing Kerala Café in 2009, where 10 directors had come together to create a series of short stories.

Mammootty, Jayasurya, Dileep, Prithviraj, Shweta Menon, Rima Kallingal and Nithya Menen played key roles in the film which became a trend setter. With filmmakers opting for films in a similar format, the industry is witnessing sudden increase in anthologies while maker Shyamaprasad says this trend mark the 'death of the quintessential hero.
