Haircare is one of the most crucial and sensitive issues for any woman. And by wrong usage of chemicals in hair products it tends to cause nausea, fatigue, headaches and even cancer. So, it is important that you must be careful while buying a hair care product and look out for the following chemicals. If they are present then you must avoid buying those products.
Firstly you should not go for products having Isopropyl alcohol. This is usually found in hair rinses and lotion. Inhaling it would lead to nausea, dizziness and headaches. You should also look out for Propylene Glycol which is a wetting agent. This has a penetrating property due to which it can cause the skin to sag by taking away its protein. It is usually found in hair conditions and shampoos.
You should also avoid Polyethylene glycol used in cleaning and personal care products. This is a petroleum product and regular usage tends to cause premature aging of skin. Beware of chemicals like Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) and Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES). They are very dangerous and used in hair conditioners and shampoos. They can lead to cataract and also result in hair loss.
Similarly, you should also be careful about Diethanolamine (DEA) and Momoethanolamine (MEA) and Triethanolamine (TEA). They are used in shampoos but usually they are cancer causing agents. And then there are the FD & C colour pigments used in shampoos and conditioners. They contain synthetic colours to give an appealing look. But they can cause skin irritation and nerve problems.
