With companies like Samsung and HTC capturing the market, the Sony company is not far behind. They have now come up with their latest offering in the Xperia series. This is the Xperia neo L and is a successor to neo V. Unlike the earlier devices, this is a much enhanced version and it measures 4.8 x 2.4 x 0.5 inches and it is very light. The weight is around 131.5 grams which is quite smooth.
The hardware comprises of glossy plastic casing for the back cover and the frame is lined with chrome. The left side has got a mini USB port and the right panel comprises of the buttons for power, volume and small speaker. The neo L has a 4-inch HD TFT touchscreen and the resolution is 845 x 480 pixels. While the finish is good, the glossy body makes it slippery which is a risk.
The neo L runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and this gives a smooth experience to the user. There is also the Sony Timescape which helps the user to get all updates on a single scrollable window. When it comes to connectivity, the neo L has got all fittings such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth 2.1, EDR, Gtalk, Facebook, Twitter etc
The music player in the neo L has got an audiophile which has lot of features apart from the standard music options. The camera is comprising of 5MP unit and it has autofocus with LED flash. There is also a front facing VGA camera for video calls but then there is no zoom. The phone is powered by a single core 1GHz processor with 512 MB RAM along with a 1500 mAh battery.
