Gongura Maamsam

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 kg chicken
  • 2 onions chopped finally
  • 2 cups chopped gongura (Sorrel leaves or Pitwaa)
  • 3 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 5 tbsp red chill powder
  • 2 tbsp chicken masala powder
  • 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • pinch of turmeric powder
  • Chopped coriander leaves -1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
How to Prepare
  • Boil gongura leaves till they become soft and them drain water and grind leaves into paste .

  • Take heavy bottom vessel heat oil add onions fry them to light brown color , add ginger garlic paste fry until raw smell goes .

  • Now add chicken and cook for 5 min , then add all the powders except garam masala , Mix well and place lid and cook for 10 min .

  • Add gongura, garam masala to chicken place the lid and cook for 15 minutes .

  • Garish with coriander
