- Lakshmi Manchu is the only daughter of the famous actor Mohan Babu and his first wife the late Vidya Devi. She was born in Chennai and did her schooling there only.
- She went to the USA and did her Bachelors in Theatre at Oklahoma State University. She stayed in the USA for many years.
- Her first step in career was through the famous American television series Las Vegas and Desperate Housewives which made her quite famous.
