Story:
A regular tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Pandipuram village and here lives the landlord Veerapandi (rajkiran). He is noble, powerful and respected by all. His son Selvam (dhanush) also goes in the same way. Meanwhile, Veerapandi supports Rajalingam (prakash raj) and makes him the local MLA. However, after getting to power, Rajalingam shows his real colour and trouble erupts between him and Pandi. Rajalingam decides to kill Veerapandi and Selvam intervenes. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a regular storyline and while the presentation was effective, the narrative was different. The dialogues were punch packed, the script was routine while the screenplay was fast and pacy. Background score was good in parts and songs were upto the mark. Cinematography was the highlight. Editing was sharp but few scenes got jumped. Costumes were colourful while the art department was apt. Dhanush came up with a lively performance and he carries the film well. Tamannah is a visual feast and she scores in songs and glamour. Rajkiran was intense, Prakash Raj was perfect. Ganja Karuppu brought few smiles, Oorvashi was alright, Muniamma was moderate.

Conclusion:
As such, the film follows the regular formula of fights, romance, comedy and battle of good versus evil so expecting twists is not required. However, it was the pace at which the film runs and the gripping performances which score. While the first half is on the lighter vein with comedy, romance and songs, the second half gets into the fights and melodrama. Overall, this is a movie which will appeal to the commercial audience and strike a chord due to the star power. At the box office, this will be an above average entertainer.

Bharatstudent Verdict:  Typical Masala Entertainer
