Kalaimaamani awards which are among the most prestigious awards given by the state government were given away last week. While popular actresses Asin, Nayanthara, Meera Jasmine, Shobana and veteran Saroja Devi were given the awards and the  actors included Bharath, Sundar C and Vyapuri. Anu Haasan and Abhishek were given awards for small screen. More than 60 artists were honored with these awards for their excellence in different fields including music, literature, theatre and so on. All the recipients were excited with these awards and thanked the state government for recognizing their achievements.
