Story:
A masala tale, the story begins with two brothers Raja ( Mammootty) and Surya (prithvi) who are the sons of Madhavan Nair (nedumudi). However, their family rivalry with Puthiyara family ends up with Raja getting arrested for a murder he didn't commit. This causes rift between him and his father. He leaves home and goes to Madurai only to become a big goonda Pokkiri Raja. Meanwhile, Surya also grows up to be a tough guy and Nair fearing that he might go astray sends him to Ernakulam. There, Surya falls in love with Ashwathi (shriya), daughter of the police commissioner. This leads to trouble and that's when Pokkiri Raja arrives. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a typical storyline and both his presentation and narrative were suitable. The dialogues were appealing, the script was simple, the screenplay was regular. Background score was okay, songs were not that great, cinematography was standard. Editing was crisp, costumes were nice and art department was also effective. Mammootty was the show stealer as he walks his way through. Prithviraj was impressive, Shriya was stunningly beautiful and she made her presence felt strongly despite having two big stars around. Nedumudi was natural, Suraj was standard, Siddhique was neat, the others did their bit as required and added value.

Conclusion:
The film is a typical masala treat and will appeal to the mass audiences along with the fans of Mammootty. With two big stars, the maker has done proper justice to both and with the glamour feast from Shriya, the audience could not have asked for more. While the first half goes on a different track, the second half gets into another track. Overall, the film runs at a good pace giving no idle space for the viewers. This will be a runaway hit at the B and C centers so overall it's a successful venture.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Pure masala feast, recommended for commercial audience
