Story:
A routine tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Thazekeezhpadam panchayath and here is Viswanatha Panikkar ( Mammootty) who is the president. He is also known as 'America' since he has his own way of intervening in land disputes and eventually becoming the owner of the land. Viswanatha manages to earn crores of properties in the form of lands and registers the properties in the name of cousin Somasekhar Panikkar (siddique) and his sister Thangalakshmi. The story takes a turn when a deal of 100 acres of land comes for an MNC and Viswanatha takes Rs 12.5 crores as bribe. However, conscience strikes him as he realizes how the greenery and the rice fields of the village will evaporate in the commercial centre. He backs off and decides to return the bribe. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a routine storyline and both his presentation and narrative have been standard. The dialogues were alright, the script did not experiment and the screenplay was regular. Background score was okay but the songs were a letdown. Cinematography managed to capture few shots in a good way. Editing was okay. Costumes didn't have much work while the art department was realistic. Mammootty has done this role hundred times so it was a cakewalk for him. Sneha looked naturally sensuous and she made her presence felt, Siddique was good, Lekshmy was luscious but okay. Suresh Krishna was standard, Salim was underutilized, Prabhu was impressive and Fahad was fabulous.

Conclusion:
The film has been made without any venture to experiment and the brand image of Mammootty was used to the fullest. While the first half of the film was about the regular elements of drama, the second half deals with the self- realization. As such, there is nothing to be appealed content wise but then it is the smooth flow of events that leaves not much of an idle time. The film will appeal to the hardcore Mammootty fans for obvious reasons but at the box office, this would not be a clicker, it could end up as an average grosser.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Average and old fashioned
