Story:

A complicated tale, the story begins with twin brothers Kunjunni and Pattazhy Madhavan ( Mammootty). While Pattazhy is rather saintly and is a typical Brahmin, it is Kunjunni who is exactly the opposite and believes in a lifestyle of pomp and pleasure. He is also an atheist and due to his nature, he ignores the warnings about the ghosts of Nellore Manaa, the ancestral home. He comes to buy that place and as soon as he arrives he realizes that things are not usual there. Though he tries his best to escape from there, nothing works. In comes the elder brother Madhavan and he is full of saintly thoughts and divine elements. He decides to unravel the mystery of the haunted house and in this process, he also comes across few shocking truths which dates to generations. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a gripping storyline but then he was not able to conceive it in the right manner. Though the presentation was good, the narrative was a letdown. The real cause for that happens to be the complicated script which confuses, the screenplay was better. Background score added to the moods but nothing in the songs. Cinematography was top notch and editing was badly needed during the second half. Costumes were alright and the art department was strongly present. Mammootty was the life and soul of the movie and he shouldered it very well throughout despite the weak foundation. Navya Nair was effective, Kanihaa fails to impress, Manoj K Jayan was masterly and Thilakan was top notch. Dhanya was brilliant. The others didn't have much to offer.

Conclusion:
The film takes off on a promising note but soon, the makers have filled it with so many concepts and the Brahmin ethos that it gets confusing and dragging at many places. While the first half was a bit bumpy, the second half gets even twisted and the audience has got many idle moments before the story proceeds. Technically, it is a well made movie but the content and narrative pulled the scores down. The film will find it hard to shine at the box office but only Mammootty fans can relish it.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Could have been better, only for Mammootty fans
