It was all "Pazhassi Raja" at the recently held Annual Malayalam Movie Awards. While the movie received the best movie award, the lead actress Kanika received the best actress award. Hariharan got the best direction award while Vasudevan Nair received the best screenplay award. Oscar winner Resul Pookutty along with Amritha Preetham got awards for the best sound. Maestro Ilayaraja was awarded the best music director and Padmapriya was honored with a special award.
