Story:

A typical mass entertainer, the story begins with Kamannana (Doddanna) who is a professional thief and in his grip, he gets the two apprentices Ramanna (Sudeep) and Kittanna (Rockline) as children and from then on starts training them on the tricks of the trade. They grow up to be efficient thieves and soon the trio forms a perfect gang. But then, as time passes realization sets in and they decide to call it quits to their profession and start a new life. They leave their existing place and set on a journey in a wayward lorry to go to a new place. As luck would have it, the lorry gets into a mechanical trouble in the middle of a forest and the trio gets down only and starts their journey only to find one house and a village in the morning which belongs to Kanaka (Vaibhavi). They take shelter in the house and soon they realize that she and her father are facing a tough time from the village head. The trio takes the initiative and solves the issue by taking things into their own hands which enrages the village head. Soon they settle in the same village and take to agriculture. Life takes a turn when Ramanna sees Gayathri, the daughter of the village head and falls for her. In a twist of tale he ends up tying a mangalsutra to Gayatri and with not much choice to do, the village head mellows down due to his daughter. However, there is a suspense waiting at the marriage hall which takes the story to a completely different turn. To know what it is, watch the movie.

Presentation:

The director has come out with the idea of complete entertainment with all the commercial angles. His presentation was good but then the narration was really shabby. Editing was missing totally from the film and the music has not been that great except for two numbers. The brighter side is some excellent camerawork and few interesting dialogues at places. Sudeep was good and carried out his role with perfectionism while Rockline put in some good efforts and gave a decent performance, Doddanna too was good and natural. Vaibhavi has an appealing sexuality in her but then her role was not well etched. The comedy of Sadhu Kokila was annoying while Deepu, Ramesh Bhat and others carried out their roles with the required ease.

Conclusion:

The film which turns out to be an action treat has been packed with the right commercial elements but then some scenes were totally unnecessary which spoiled the complete product. The film is more like a remake of the Tamil hit 'Majaa' which had hero Vikram and the first half goes well with its action, sentiment and romance. It is the second half where things go wrong but then thanks to the technical aspects and some good performances, the film is an entertainer that can be tasted once. A little more of publicity and reaching out to the audience is required to get it to the success mark.

Bharatstudent verdict: Can be watched once, Sudeep fans will love it...
