In what is being seen as a rather unique trend being set it is heard that the film Charulatha has set a new example. Apparently this has become the first Indian film to buy the remake rights of a foreign movie.
 
Usually Indian films tend to be freemakes of Hollywood movies but Charulatha is the official remake of the Thai horror movie Alone. This has the buxom beauty Priyamani in double role.
 
This is being directed by Ponkumaran and it would also be released in Telugu. Priyamani is essaying the role of conjoined twins and the Telugu version is being released by Geetha Film distribution.
