'Bigg Boss' participants in PR frenzy!
Bollywood's leading publicist Dale Bhagwagar is in big demand amongst participants of India's biggest reality show 'Bigg Boss'.

The spin doctor has already been approached by four contestants of the show, even before their names have been officially announced for it. "I can't disclose the names as they are bound by a confidentiality contract for the show. But I might be handling the publicity for one of them. Though I'm yet to decide which one," said the publicist.

For the record, the high-profile PR is most famous for looking after controversial celebrities and keeping them in national and sometimes international headlines.

Earlier, he masterminded strategies for his client Shilpa Shetty when she fell into the infamous racism controversy in the UK reality show 'Big Brother'. While keeping the hype and hoopla rolling, Dale even predicted Shilpa's win, while she was facing Jade Goody's stinging onslaughts in the 'Big Brother' house. He made sure, every bit of news about her sounded sensational.

But Dale was almost unstoppable after Shilpa won the show, spinning every opportunity to propel the actress into unbelievable media glare, turning her into an icon, standing up against the burning international issue of racism in the West and raising her social standing worldwide. Shilpa later went on to host 'Bigg Boss' in India.
While the PR specialist nurtured 'Brand Shilpa' for the most controversial and glorious five years of her life (including the Richard Gere days), he simultaneously created another outrageous figure with 'Brand Sherlyn'.

Yes, Sherlyn Chopra was actually an actress who went by the screen name Mona Chopra, having acted in B-grade movies like 'Naughty Boy' and 'Time Pass', before she signed the PR guru for her branding at an astronomical amount.

He insisted she revert to her original name Sherlyn, and within a year, carved a shocking and scandalous image, which perfectly matched with her personality, as well as her penchant for bodily exposure and bikinis. As a result, Sherlyn not only grabbed headlines from time to time, but also became the queen of internet wallpapers.
Her media presence was so attention-grabbing that she was invited in 'Bigg Boss'. She refused it for the first time, demanding Rs 3 crores for the 3-month-long reality show. But her other demand was even more shocking. She requested that cameras be installed also in the shower, so that she could "show off her collection of colourful bikinis while bathing".

At that time, almost everything about Sherlyn in the media, was meticulously orchestrated and engineered by Dale, before one day, she suddenly removed him from his job, claiming he was trying to be "God" in her life.

Sherlyn agreed to be on 'Bigg Boss' the consecutive year. Sadly, Dale was no longer her PR then, and Sherlyn's appearance on the show failed to generate the expected fireworks. This also went on to prove, how effective the publicist's hand was, in all of her hype pre-'Bigg Boss'. She also took him back as her PR for sometime, but the publicist seemed to have lost interest in her work by then, and walked out of the new deal in two months.

Dale came to be known as the 'King of Spin' when he engineered a turnaround for Vivek Oberoi, changing his image from downright negative, to likeable, within a year of media maneuvers. Before this, he managed the media for another controversial figure Shiney Ahuja, and also for Vindu Dara Singh, who later won 'Bigg Boss'.

Many other 'Bigg Boss' participants like Rakhi Sawant, Diana Hayden and Zulfi Syed have also been Dale's clients from time to time, while one of its other winners, Rahul Roy, is his close friend.

That's not all! Apart from Shilpa, Rakhi and Sherlyn, Dale has handled the PR for many more 'controversy queens' like Priyanka Chopra, Sameera Reddy, Pakistani actress Meera, the late supermodel Viveka Babajee's family, and more recently, firebrand Neetu Chandra, whose name has now been dragged by another Pakistani actress Veena Malik in the international match-fixing scandal.

While Veena is said to be in the forthcoming 'Bigg Boss', Neetu too has been asked to feature on the show. Confirming this, the publicist said, "Yes, Neetu has been offered to participate in 'Bigg Boss'," but added, "She is not cut out for it and we haven't given the nod yet."

(Psst: Dale revealed that Veena Malik had not been approached for 'Bigg Boss'. When we asked him how he knew of this and whether the Pakistani actress had got in touch with him, he dodged our queries.)
