Story:
An old tale, the story is set on the backdrop of Trinidad and Tobago and here lives Donsai (fardeen) who is young and handsome but is paranoid about commitment and marriage. Then, there is Shimmer (sushmita) who is a hot celeb in the glamour world and she believes strongly in independence and success than anything else. On the softer side is Samarpreet (ishita) a typical Punjabi kudi who believes in love and life. Then, there is the super rich Pawan Raj Gandhi (srk) who believes in only love than anything else. As fate would have it, the paths of Dosnai and Samarpreet intersect while Pawan and Shimmer have their fates crossed. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
The director has come up with a known subject and though the presentation was good, the narrative was not upto the mark. The dialogues were okay, the script was flimsy and the screenplay was weak. Background score was good but only one song is worth taking home. Cinematography was excellent, costumes were rich, art department was creative and editing could have been better. Fardeen Khan carries off his role well and he has some good moments, Ishita was beautiful and made her presence felt, Sushmita was rocking and is apt for the role, Shahrukh Khan was a let down. Johnny Lever was regular, Mohit was neat, Suchitra was standard, Bina was okay. The others did their bit but didn't have much to offer.

Conclusion:
The film finds it base with many romantic tales such as 'My Fair Lady' 'RNBDJ' 'DDLJ' and few others. So ideally, the makers picked up bits and pieces and stitched the film together. While the first half goes about with the regular elements of comedy and romance, it is the second half that gets into a groove but the climax was not gripping and convincing either. Such movies run strongly on narrative and if that is weak, then it is difficult for them to survive. Even SRK's brand value cannot save them.

Bharatstudent Verdict: Could have been better
