New Delhi, Aug 8 : Director Vivek Agnihotri is
taking no chances with his debut production "Freedom". He is planning to
conduct workshops here for the cast of the political thriller.
Agnihotri
has directed films like " Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal" and " Hate Story" in the
past. He has ventured into production with "Freedom" and is making it
under his banner Durgamaaya Productions.
The film is said to be a
realistic and rustic take on Indian politics. It has an ensemble cast,
which has been kept under wraps as of now. Since the movie aims to
unfold the events in India from 1970s to 2000, the filmmaker wants the
actors to attend workshops to get clued in to their roles.
"Vivek
is planning to conduct workshops in Delhi where the actors will be
confined to a room so that they can get into the skin of the character,"
said a source.
"The political thriller promises to give a
blow-by-blow account of modern day India during the last three decades,
beginning from the time of emergency declared in 1975 by then prime
minister Indira Gandhi till date," added the source.
The story of
"Freedom", which will go on floors in October, has been penned by
Agnihotri himself, while the screenplay has been jointly written by him
and Rohan Malhotra.
