A well known Indian film director, producer and a script writer, Kalpana Lajmi who is an independent filmmaker working more on realistic cinema, which are known as parallel cinema in India. Her last film

chingaari starring shushmita sen, hit the theatres in 2006, And now she is making her comeback after 6 years with a film called "KAANCH" which is a female centric film. The film, stars Saidah Jules and 14 year old Famous Tv Actress Avika gor who is playing the main lead in the film.
