In what is being seen as an unusual yet interesting move, recently a Bangla film festival was held at the tourist city of Pattaya in Thailand. This has been done by the International Bangla Film Academy. It is heard that nearly 400 personalities from the Indian film industry were present at the do. Sources say a total of 16 categories were there for the awards and they were received well.
 
The organizers felt that this event would be an opportunity to showcase the tourist destination Pattaya to the world. The event was televised by the media partner Kolkata TV.
