Virodhi Tollywood Movie Review
A complicated tale, the story begins with Jayadev (srikanth) who is an ideal journalist believing in anti-establishment stuff. He targets the corrupt politicians and one such person is a minister (ahuti prasad). During an interview with the minister, an attack happens from the naxals and due to the shooting, the minister dies and the naxals take Jayadev as the hostage. The team (ajay, Kamal kamaraju, rupali, sri ramya, Ravi Varma, sivaji raja, kiran varanasi etc) plans for an escape. Each member of the group has their own reason to join the naxal movement and Jayadev realizes that it is not just the revolutionary ideology but few misleading as well. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.
Virodhi Telugu Cinema Review
The director has come up with a different storyline and while the presentation was average, the narrative was indifferent. The dialogues were regular, the script was not strong while the screenplay was alright. Background score was good in parts and there were hardly any songs. Cinematography was below average. Editing was as required. Nothing much in Costumes while the art department's presence was not that required. Srikanth has given an undermined performance given his character so he did his bit well. Kamalini Mukherjee had a guest role so not much from her. Ajay was appealing and he made his presence felt. Kamal Kamaraju was impressive. Sriramya was sweet and good in her act. Rupali was sensuous and contributed effectively with her act. Ravi Varma was brief, Sivaji Raja was nice, Nagineedu was okay. The others did their bit as expected.
Virodhi Filem Review
Given the name of the director, the expectations were naturally high and with the subject he chose, there was bound to be some dramatic moments. However, the film fails to take off. While the first half goes about mildly, the second half develops some energy and it goes on for a while before the ending comes with a rather supple end. Overall, the film doesn't have the required technical standards or the production values to give an impact. At the box office, success is not likely but with the hype and openings, it could gather a decent collection.
