Valentine Tollywood Movie Review

Story:
The attempt to come up with something new with a new team is the basis of the film 'Valentine'. The story is about four youngsters - Salim who is in love with the daughter of a police officer, Shakir whose only aim in life is to go to the US, Krish whose father is a known pastor and wants him to become a famous preacher but Krish turns out to be a big eve teaser and Romeo and finally Vishal who is an orphan brought up by a nanny and he wants to achieve something big in life. Amongst the four boys it is Salim who starts off by marrying Anjali, the daughter of the police officer. Enters Suzanne, an American who comes to India with the sole objective of doing service to the poor and needy and has Mother Theresa as her model. Vishal becomes her guide to India and in this process both of them fall in love. Will their love be successful for the rest of their lives and did Shakir become successful in his dream to go to the US forms the rest of the story.

Presentation:
Director Viswakarma whose heroic attempt to convey an ideal form of true love and its meaning can be applauded for his presentation but the film lost out on its narration. While he was able to get something out of the new cast, the script lacked the punch to keep the film going. The director chose a particular form of lighting for the entire film to set a mood but sometimes that turned out to be the cause of annoyance to the audience. Music has been above average. Camera has captured the scenes and emotions correctly. Other technical departments did their job mechanically. Nothing much can be said about the cast as all of them are new and though this is their debut effort, they have done their best to do justice to the roles though there is not much to offer.

Conclusion:
A tender subject well presented but weak in narration. The director has tried to give a treatment to the meaning of love in his own way but then it lacked the ingredients which could connect to the audience in any manner. The music has been a good source of strength aided by good technical work of the camera. The first half of the film runs in such a way that the audience spends time trying to figure out the hero, heroine and villain of the film. The second half runs in with its loose ends but handled professionally.

Bharatstudent verdict: A passable romantic entertainer. Not much in the film for the audience, barely okay.
