Renigunta Tollywood Movie Review

Story: A violent story, the tale begins on the backdrop of a village called Tharigonda and here is Shiva (johnny), a young boy whose life goes smooth with parents and friends. However, his life takes a turn when his parents are brutally murdered by a goon. However, Sakthi is sent to jail. There, he meets Pandu aka Pandu (Nishanth), Dabba aka Prem Kumar (Theepetti Ganeshan), Mari (Thamizh) and Michael (Sandeep). They bond well and decide to help Shiva with his revenge. Soon, they come out and kill the goon and decide to go to Mumbai to become gangsters. However, fate gets them to Renigunta and in touch with Bunker (bunker), a middleman between clients and contract killers. On the other hand, Shiva falls for a speech impaired girl (sanusha) whose brother is keen on putting her to flesh trade. What happens from there forms the rest of the story.

Renigunta Telugu Cinema Review

Presentation: The director has come up with a hard hitting tale and both the presentation and narrative are strong. The script was flawless, the dialogues were cold, the screenplay was gripping. Background score gave enough punch to the scenes and the cinematography was top notch, editing was crisp but it could have worked on cutting down the gore. Fights were realistic, costumes were natural and the art department was creative. Johnny came up with a good performance and so was Sanusha who looked cute and sensuous despite her role. Nishanth was neat, Ganeshan was great, Bunker was regular, the others did their bit to add value to the film.

Renigunta Filem Review

Conclusion: The film seems to have taken a strong inspiration from the film 'The City of Joy' but then the makers have worked so that there is an equally strong message to the viewers, especially the young generation. While the first half goes on a rather smooth mode, it is the second half that gets very serious. The film could have been more effective if a subtle handling was given for the violence and used it only when required. Moreover, the Tamil nativity is strongly seen and the realism shown will not appeal to the Telugu audience who seek entertainment more than anything else. At the box office, the film might appeal to B, C centers but it could be an average grosser.
