Story: A routine commercial tale, the story begins with Betting Raj (charan) who grows up in a slum and keeps making money through winning bets. One such bet is given to him by James (ajmal). Raj should make Chaitra (tamannah), daughter of the powerful Bellary (mukesh rishi) fall in love with him and that too within thirty days. On the other hand, Raj needs money as his guardian (m s narayana) has to undergo surgery. He takes up the challenge and decides to woo Chaitra. But is that possible? There is also a past of Raj which has connection with Chaitra. What is that past and whether this bet is successful or not forms the rest of the story. |
Presentation: The director has come up with a predictable storyline and while the presentation was appealing, the narrative was not that great. The dialogues were written with some fanaticism. The script was average and the screenplay was just okay. Background score was good but only two songs were upto the mark. Cinematography was apt. Editing was required at few places but overall it was good. Costumes were trendy and stylish while the art department was appealing. Ram Charan has given a good performance but his character was not etched properly. Tamannah looks sizzling hot and gave the required visual feast. Mukesh Rishi was impressive, he has the right kind of screen presence and power of a baddie. Ajmal and Parthiepan were brief. Dev Gill was okay. Kota was regular. Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Srinivas Reddy, Tagubothu Ramesh, Ali were there for the comedy track. The others didn’t have much scope. |
Conclusion: The film has come with a lot of hype and expectations since Charan is keen on scoring a major hit. But the film has nothing special or different to grab the attention of the audience. It is the same old story with the same old formula and nothing new in the romance. While the first half goes about with lighter elements of comedy, romance, songs and fights, the second half tends to have some sentiment and melodrama with the regular climax. At the box office, the film has some material for the mass audience but nothing much for the families. So, this could be an average to below average grosser. Bharatstudent verdict: Better than bad and worse than good |
