Pellikani Prasad Tollywood Movie Review

A primitive love story, the film begins with Sujatha (Sridevi) who is the darling daughter of Gopalrao(Raghuvaran). Being a protective father, he is of the firm belief that daughters must marry the boy of parent's choice and hates the idea of love and getting eloped. However, Sujatha turns out to be a disappointment for him as she falls hopelessly in love with Vara Prasad (Allari Naresh) who is nothing but a vagabond with the credit of failing tenth standard three times. Gopal Rao gets to know of this affair and as expected throws the trump card of a parent; he tells her that he would commit suicide or asks her to die and starts blackmailing her emotionally. Unable to take it, Sujatha agrees to her father's wishes and marries Siva Prasad (Shivaji). During the first night, Siva Prasad gives out the dialogue that he has convinced Sujatha's father and married her and all this as per her wishes. What was Sujatha's plan? What happens to Vara Prasad and the love story? What is Siva Prasad's role in this? All these form the rest of the story.

Pellikani Prasad Telugu Cinema Review

Director Satyam has proved that he has a long way to go in this role as he is not even aware of the basics. The presentation was pathetic, the narration was nascent, the subject was sick. Not just his role but even the technical departments like the screenplay, editing, music have come out with some absolutely substandard contributions which added to the woes of the audience. Allari Naresh did what best he could to bring life onto the screen but then his character was so pale that he didn't have much to offer. Shivaji on the other hand had more meat in his role but since the subject was so flimsy, even his performance got limited. Sridevi better watch out for her figure else her time will be over soon. She still needs to polish her acting skills though she has the oomph somewhere. Raghuvaran was grossly underutilized. The others did not have much to offer but carried on with their roles mechanically.

Pellikani Prasad Filem Review

A poor presentation of a subject that could have come out as a hilarious entertainer considering the plot and the cast, the director made a mess of the whole thing despite so many advantages. The first half was dedicated to Naresh and the second half went to Shivaji which lost out on a major chance to bring both of them together for some real fireworks. The audience had no choice but to scratch their heads in annoyance for the sheepish comedy and some horrible arrangement of sequences. It is hard to see the movie sustaining more than a fortnight. Writing more on this is a waste of time.

Bharatstudent verdict: Horrible!! The film would have been better off in boxes at the processing lab instead of hitting the screens and causing nightmares to the audience.
